Ioanna Nikou was born in Larisa, Greece in 1993 and she moved to the U.S in 2017 after receiving a scholarship for her master’s studies. She received her doctorate degree in piano studies at Ball State University, Indiana, where she held a Graduate assistantship in accompanying and piano teaching. In 2019, she received her master’s degree in piano performance from Bowling Green State University, Ohio.

During her first year in the U.S, Ms. Nikou won the first prize at the Greek Women’s University Club National Competition in Evanston, Illinois and in 2019, she was invited to perform at the Juneau Piano Series, as one of the premiere artists of the festival. During her undergraduate studies, she took part at the Erasmus exchange program for one semester at the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik, Trossingen, Germany, where she worked with young students, implementing new ideas and techniques in her teaching approach.

Dr. Nikou has been a piano teacher for over twelve years now, teaching and performing in Greece, Germany and the US, where she also had the pleasure to work with brilliant fellow musicians. Her purpose is to build skillful musicians that enjoy their progress and admire the fruits of their musical journey. Her students gain meaningful knowledge and skills that have helped them achieve their goals and receive many awards under her direction.
