Arterus is originally from Evansville, IN. This is where he first grew a love for music and singing. At a young age he was exposed to music in the church. He would go to church with his grandfather, and be fascinated with the choir and beautiful organ being played. Throughout middle school and high school, he participated in choirs and musicals. Arterus graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Music Media Production. He began his college career focused on music production and singing contemporary music. Writing and producing his own Pop and RnB music, he plans to publish an EP entitled, “Night and Day”. To be released sometime the Summer of 2022 on all streaming platforms. As he continued through college Arterus gained an interest in Classical Music, music theory, and composition. Arterus has learned the importance of vocal education, technique, and understanding stylistic differences through studying voice lessons and taking vocal pedagogy courses at Ball State. He was the music director of a tenor/bass A Capella group on campus, Note to Self, for two years. Arterus is passionate about the promotion of composers of color and their works and history in music. He is also interested in showing at-risk youth and low income students the reality of a career in the music field. Arterus believes through the promotion of diversity, positive support, and personal resilience a student is well-rounded and equipped to tackle any experience they may have, not only in the classroom, but in life.
Arterus continues to take voice lessons, compose choral selections and Art Songs, and write his own music. Arterus is eager to work with all students of any age, interested in all genres of music.
